RADIUS Installation Steps
Upgrade RADIUS from 1.0.x to 2.1.0

RADIUS v1.0.x configuration data is not retained or used by RADIUS v2.1.0

1. Back up the appliance.radius.properties file

2. Install RADIUS v2.1.0 in a new folder, separate from earlier versions of RADIUS, per the Install RADIUS 2.1.0 instructions

3. Validate RADIUS v2.1.0 installed successfully

4. If upgrading from RADIUS v1.0.x, follow steps 'a' and 'b'

a. Uninstall Java JRE from Windows using the Add / Remove tool (recommended)

b. Disable the RADIUS v1.0.x Windows service SecureAuthRadiusService2 in the Windows Services console (services.msc)

RADIUS v2.1.0 Windows service will use the service name secureauthRadius

If RADIUS v1.0.x is installed, the RADIUS v2.1.0 installer will not overwrite the Windows service SecureAuthRadiusService2

Install RADIUS 2.1.0

1. Locate the SecureAuth IdP RADIUS Server Installer.zip file that was downloaded, and unzip the file

NOTE: If RADIUS v2.0.X is currently installed, RADIUS v2.1.0 by default will be installed in a new folder, and therefore can be installed while the existing service is running

2. Find the installation file SecureAuth IdP RADIUS Server Installer.exe in the unzipped folder, and double-click the file to start the install wizard

3. Click Next to proceed

4. The default installation path is C:\idpRADIUS

Change this path to install the file in another folder

5. Click Install to begin installing the RADIUS service

6. After the installation has completed, optionally select the file(s) to start when the wizard closes

a. Open Readme file

b. Open RADIUS Administration Console

7. Click Finish to close the install wizard

If either or both files were selected at step 6, the requested file(s) now appear(s)
