Cisco AnyConnect error: "The VPN client was unable to setup IP filtering. A VPN connection will not be established"

Issue

The user has a valid certificate and Cisco AnyConnect is able to grab the certificate, but upon submitting the password, AnyConnect throws the error: "The VPN client is unable to establish a connection."

Cause

This issue involves the Base Filtering Engine (BFE).

Solution

Install and start the BFE service.
