SecureAuth Error Codes

These messages are presented to the end-user based on various conditions. The following messages may be shown.

Error message during registration: Unable to use selected registration method, please choose another method

Message when you scroll over red error message: An unsecured or incorrectly secured fault was received from the other party. See inner FaultException for the fault code and detail.

Solution: The time on the SecureAuth appliance was off. Change to the correct local time to resolved.

Certificate Request Error: Please close out your web browser and try again. If problem persists, contact help desk for assistance

  • Private key corruption / Browser cannot access the private key path

    • Run this utility

    • really odd case where running thru FF fixed the private key store

Please contact admin - Unable to contact the Certificate Authority (WSE 3.0 configuration is incorrect)

  • Check time on the SecureAuth Appliance

  • Check appliance connectivity to x509.multifactortrust3.com

  • Try SMS or telephony and hover over the red "Unable to use selected registration method, please choose another method" for detailed troubleshooting messages

  • 2008 / 6.0 upgrades from 5.x

  • Make sure WCF client & service serial numbers are populated

  • Server Identity Certificate mismatch

  • The secureauth appliance is unable to to pull the SSL Termination point. Has it expired? Firewall rule? DNS?

    >Ver 5.4.5 Workflow>> SSL Termination Cert -- copy blog out and save as a .cer on the desktop and double click or view via cert manager

    <Ver 5.4.5 Workflow >> SSL Cert Address & SSL Termination Point

    insert cert addy into IE and view the certificate and view the error and verify the SSL Term Cert

  • Look in IIS see if 127.0.0.1 has been assigned to port 443.

    If old SSL Cert is in memory.....change parameter on instance and save and update and change back facilitate an IIS cache flush/ virtual directory update. Otherwise do a global instance flush by doing START>>run>>iisrestart

*Mac only...remove the cert from the keychain and then re-enroll
